Jointery is the nuts and bolts of woodworking. Almost always hidden away, it is what holds the variety of planes and elements of a piece of furniture in place. This event will be a discussion and hands-on experience on jointery.

Jointery is the nuts and bolts of woodworking. Almost always hidden away, it is what holds the variety of planes and elements of a piece of furniture in place. This event will be a discussion and hands-on experience on jointery. I will put special emphasis on my favorite designing joint, (and dare I say, tabooed wood subject), the exposed spline. We will have access to several fully milled pieces of furniture that have not yet been assembled. I will discuss the how's and why's of the various joints. I will also attempt to explain why I feel the joint should come out from within furniture's shadowy interior to claim it's rightful place as a unique and exposed, fully functional, design element.
