Robert Johnson

Many of my paintings and photographs are simple celebrations of the skies and landscapes of the great southwest. My work in alternative photographic processes using the nearly 200 year old process of Cyanotype Photography is much the same, but is frequently also a departure wherein I take a barbed glance at our world using collaged juxtapositions of my own images, historic and found images, public domain images, advertising tropes, as well as nuggets of text and images gleaned from popular culture and the golden age of comic books. My most recent explorations with Cyanotypes are a series of Macro Photographs captured with an iPad and a water drop over the lens.
