Theresa Cashman

As an emerging artist, I find myself on a tightrope between decorative and fine art. Sometimes I fall one way, sometimes the other. Many pieces are representational, with some being more abstract. My  favorite pieces are the ones with meaning, the ones that aren’t simply decorative, but declarative. One of my biggest challenges thus far is finding the right combination of colors, textures, and opacities in the art glass available to fit my expression.  OPEN365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #19

Andrea Cermanski

My work is a conversation in color inspired by the intricacies of our natural world.  Extracting my palette from nature, my work embodies the delicate interplay of light and color, texture and form.  While working, I intuitively synthesize memories of the land, sky and water, allowing something new to emerge–a metamorphosis. 2022 TOUR STUDIO #24

Michael Coop

Michael is fascinated by the interaction of colors and the accretion of visual texture in paintings as the surface is developed. Layered, colored surfaces and shapes interact and reveal pieces of each work’s underpainting and the many stages of change during the working process. Michael’s current paintings intend to represent in paint a contemporary view of the ravages of time and the elements on a surface and the beauty of that decayed image.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #39

Elizabeth Cooper

Daily, I find a dozen potential paintings in my visual world, which is a great blessing to me.  The art of seeing and helping others to see and grasp the beauty of life’s small fleeting moments is the desire for my art work. Whether it is sunlight glowing through a flower petal, golden backlight on a child at play or the soft glow of evening light coming through the trees on a mesa or mountain top.

LISBETH CORT

Living in the colorful city of Santa Fe supplies endless inspiration for my water media art, collage and illustration.  The geometric landscape, high desert flora and centuries-old adobe buildings all provide rich subject matter when I pick up my paintbrush. My fine art paintings are distinguished by a lively mix of patterns. For my collage pieces, I begin by hand-painting and patterning paper before I cut and assemble. My award-winning work is internationally collected.  OPEN365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #3

JOSEPH CoSBY

Artist and  International Street Photographer Joseph Cosby started his work as a photographer in the late 60’s for an arts magazine in Princeton New Jersey. He sold his first work in 1969. With the loss of sight in his right eye 2007 it appeared that Joseph’s career in photography was coming to an end. Instead, he found that it had only just begun as he adopted a completely new focus and vision. Twelve years later this culminated in the work — “Searching for My Lost Tribe: A Roll of the Dice, A Flip of the Coin”, a project spanning five continents and 50 years of searching, listening and capturing the stories of lives so different from his own.

Laura Cowan

As a small child I began working with my hands, sewing, crocheting, knitting and quilting.   After raising my children, I began my studies in sculpture and was introduced to metal work and glass and created a glass studio. Santa Fe has been home for 40 years. The gorgeous NM landscapes inspire my use of color and texture. I am also  an avid rafter, hiker, singer/musician and dog walker! OPEN365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #61

C A Crossman

I am a watercolor artist who does detailed photorealistic paintings of animals. I also do landscapes. I began painting in 1999 after taking a class with Caroline Lippincott. For several years I did life drawing and painting several times a week, which gave an appreciation for detail and color. For me painting is magic, I can't see my work until several hours later, often thinking the painting hasn't worked, only to surprise myself.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #63

Jenn Cunningham

Color and movement have always been a huge part of my artwork, and I fought against them tooth and nail. I strove for photorealistic art, drab browns, and subtle light, yet COLOR always crept in. I studied anatomy and light, I went to vet tech school, I dove deeply into my love of paleontology and mostly I painted in logical and somber colors and forms. I worked hard to suppress my love of loud colors and the emotions they invoke until finally I loosened the reins and let my art RUN. The ride has been wild and the colors bold!
