For years my life was reduced to an About page. Awards I received, Peabody Award, Writers Guild of America Award, People’s Choice Award. Titles I held . . . Then one day it occurred to me. My life has been much more than a list of credits, hell, I scrambled from the ledge of a building in Needle Park to the heights of Madison Avenue and Hollywood. Yes, I have an About page, but my life has been way, way More About…

After 20 years in the Southwest, and having been heavily immersed in high technology during that time, Gerd Kunde rediscovered an appreciation for the much slower and more deliberate art of analog photography. An " old-school photographer, " who believes in touching people emotionally with his black-and-white photography of the world, his latest series is a collection of large-scale photographs of New Mexico. Photos are captured with a large format Horseman-617 camera that uses 120 negative film and printed up to six feet wide on silver halide Ilford paper or on hand crafted Arches paper by the artist, in the platinum-palladium process. I dabbled in arts and crafts for many years while working full time as an IT Project Manager. In September of 2014 I discovered colored pencils as a professional medium. Since then I have created hundreds of completed drawings and paintings in a variety of mediums including, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor, casein, acrylic and oil. My desire is to spend the rest of my life deeply immersed in the art community inspiring fellow artists and art enthusiasts along the way. OPEN365.

Since my youth, art has played a leading role in my life. I love creating beauty in everything I do and truly love the life the creative world of art has given me. In 2014, inspired by my own collection of crosses I began designing crosses made of steel wire and barbed wire adorning them with semi-precious stones, crystals, metal beads, silver, and copper wire. The crosses acted as a catalyst for my artistic expression. My continued evolution in design and success in the art world has also led to my CrossLynn Designs Jewelry line.

I create mixed media sculpture with rattan, handmade paper, cast flax and silk fiber, sometimes embellished with mono-prints infused with indigo, sumi ink and handmade plant based inks and stains. Aside from nature's inspiration, I’m also interested in the concept of the ethereal journey, motherhood, vacancy, loss, renewal and how emotional responses can evoke beauty. OPEN365.

When I begin to paint, I am all about composition and color. I may start with a rough charcoal sketch or just start applying paint and going with the flow and mood of the day. Santa Fe has wonderful light, sunsets and mountains so I am inspired by my environment. I show my work at the Houshang Gallery, Santa Fe, NM.
