MEMBER GALLERY MI-Q

Candis McKinzie

My media is lightfast colored pencils & fine archival papers. My intention is to engage viewers, so they can feel the sunny warmth of an adobe dwelling, be encircled by a breathtaking panoramic vista or introduced to ancient cultures & architecture. I am grateful to have the ability to draw & record the rare beauty, atypical history & extraordinary spirit that is New Mexico.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #70

Sara Miller

Sara always says: "I don't do dull". She is happiest when creating with vivid and unexpected colors and with curved flowing shapes using fabrics & fibers to add texture to her works. These elements represent how life is always changing & flowing to create new directions and experiences.  OPEN365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #71

Rose Moore

I have found an abiding inspiration in the natural world, flora, fauna, landscapes, the sun, the moon and far horizons.  All find a place in my paintings, whether on canvas or shell for my jewelry line of hand painted pendants and earrings. OPEN365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #27

Marie MOrgan

I make art to illuminate the mystery and beauty in life. I paint abstracts with a narrative.  I include recovered treasures to tell a more complex story. Objects whisper to me and I collect them:  Bright orange lichen on a gray granite boulder, seed pods from a legume tree, a tiny, contemplative zebra gazing toward the horizon. I also build Creature Sculptures.  If they go home with you, they tend to become friends of the family, a new resident who doesn’t eat much. OPEN 365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #8

Mary Kaye Sawyer MOrse

Capturing the essence of open spaces in my paintings is my passion. Using luscious soft pastels with vibrant color, I strive to give all compositions, a joyful energy.  My landscapes are expressions of places I’ve been, and I hope they inspire happiness in you. To my collectors over the years, I thank you for including my work into your homes and offices.  To future collectors, I would be honored to be part of your artful environment someday.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #66

Richard Nicholas

I am a photographer, painter, print maker and a retired U.S. diplomat and a family physician. I learned about the ancient process of encaustic painting when visiting Fayoum, Egypt. I combine this ancient art form with digital photography. I studied print making at Singapore's Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. My training and experience as a Family Physician gives me a unique perspective and an eye for recognizing subtle variations.   OPEN 365.

2022 TOUR STUDIO #10

Douglas Oliver

Sculpting is my passion and I love getting up everyday to a new challenge. "Every block wood/clay/stone has a sculpture inside it and it's the task of the sculptor to discover it". I think about this quote from Michelangelo before I start any work. As a wood and clay sculptor, I look for inspiration all around me, it is everywhere when you become aware. To bring to life to a relief or dynamic 3D form remains exciting and fresh to me.  OPEN 365.
